Why is my kindle constantly restarting?

My kindle had been having memory problems so I cleared a lot of docs. Then it seems to have gotten caught in a cycle of constantly restarting (and not cleanly, too boot).

If it can't be fixed, how would I get my docs ouot of its memory?

Sadly, this did not work for me. Also a Paperwhite. Deregistered, registered again, but problem of constant stalling and rebooting persists. Frustrating!

Same here. Purchased a study bible and my 7th gen paperwhite is still stuck in a reboot loop after deregistering/reregistering a couple times.

I had the same issue with a Kindle Paperwhite where it would restart constantly. It would only allow me to open a book and as soon as I paged forward or backward it would restart. It would also restart/reboot when I attempted to select some of menu the settings. A couple of hard resets did not help and I could not get to the reset selection in the Settings menu before the Kindle would restart.

What finally worked was quite simple. I logged into my Amazon account on my computer and deregistered my device under "Manage Your Content and Devices". Your kindle should be connected to wi-fi for this to work. The kindle will then show up as Unregistered. I registered the Kindle again to my Amazon account and after that, the Kindle worked as it should - no restarting.

I spent 90 minutes on the phone with Amazon last night troubleshooting this very same problem on 2 Paperwhites. While their "fix" worked on one, it did not on the other and they told me it's done. THANK YOU to Cecilio Molina! My other Paperwhite is functioning perfectly after your 3-minute simple fix!!

I have exactly the same problem, will try this solution as well.

by

Allan Mahoney, Try a hard reset. Hold the power button for 30 min. seconds, release the power button and give it a go. If still not functioning properly do a factory reset( all stored data/apps/etc. will be deleted). Link below will provide step by step instruction to factory reset.

Before factory reset: Purchased content through Amazon will remain linked to your account, can be re-downloaded. Other third-party e-books and apps need to be saved separate, by attaching your Kindle to your laptop by using a USB cord. You can click drag everything over to special folder in your downloads section of computer to save it. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Hi, I did a hard reset and it did not work. My paperwhite is on a constant loop. Screen goes blank and kindle logo appears over and over again. I plugged it to a computer and computer did not recognize it. I deregistered it on Amazon website thinking I could register it again but my device is gone of course. I can not register it on the website, I can not access my device, my pc can not access it. I talked to CS of Amazon and ask for help to register it, they refused. My device is only 2,5 months old. I am in Europe an the moment they told ne to return in 6 days. Since there is no way for the device to reach them in 6 days I asked for an extension they refused.

Now my device is just garbage in a loop. Can you please help? I am so upset.

That’s HORRIBLE 😵‍💫 I would love to try this solution on here but I can’t even get the thing to stay on long enough to turn the Wi-Fi settings on. I can’t even access the menu as a matter of fact. ☹️

I could go to Amazon on my phone or my computer to de-register it but there’s no way to have my Kindle on Wi-Fi right now because I can’t get it to stay on long enough to do that.

I disconnected mine from the amazon account and that worked for me! Even after connecting it again. :)

Mine was having the same problem. I just deregistered and reregistered but it did it again moments later. Like someone else above, it’s happening with a study Bible. Maybe it’s just too big?? I don’t know. Other books have worked fine.

It did that to mine too maybe not with a bible but with a book I was reading with 1012 pages... I still can't get it back.

I have the same problem with a study Bible. The other books work fine. Will Amazon be fixing the problem on their Kindle?

by

Same here! Bought the Nelson study bible, and my 7th gen Kindle is stuck in a reboot loop even after a couple deregister/reregister tries.
