New icemaker makes ice, won't dispense from mold.

I have a Samsung side by side Rsg257aars. I was having issues with an icemaker I replaced a few years ago. It wasn't a Samsung OEM so when I started having issues again I figured cheaper part, just replace.

I bought new Samsung OEM icemaker, auger motor and ice bucket.

Makes ice fine, but dosent dispense from mold. It will cycle if I heat it up with a blow dryer. Arms start to move, ice drops, fills up.... Then same thing...wont dispense.

I've checked or done the following:

Unplugged and plugged back in to restart.

Ran diagnostics, no errors

Ran force defrost.

Made sure condenser coils clean

Tested freezer temp wich matches settings. - 2 deg F

Test cycle works

Water works fine, fills to correct level etc.

I would mention the fridge was making a clicking sound for a period of time. It's not making it anymore?

I've been reading what I can find on this... as this is certainly not my expertise.

Seems to obviously be something with the icemaker "heater" I've been reading about. The whole assembly is OEM brand new so does that mean it's a control board type issue? Like whatever is supposed to power the heater is dead? How would I test that? If something else is possible I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance to anyone that takes time to answer.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @saints_10

Here's the Samsung RSG257 fast track troubleshooting publication that may help.

It describes how the heat release ice makers work also where the 120V AC supply for the I/M heater is on the control board - CN73 pin 3.

You can test the I/M heater from the control board by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and then disconnecting the white/blue red wire from CN73/3 and then connecting an Ohmmeter between the wire and an earth point in the refrigerator. You should get a resistance measurement for the heater. If not then there may be a problem with the heater coil or its connections somewhere

Hopefully this is of some help.
