My LeapPad isn't charging
Even when I plug the charger into the LeapPad it still doesn't charge? What's wrong?
Is this a good question?

This issue could be a damaged battery or a damaged charging port. Try to switch out your battery with another one to verify the issue. To do this, check out our Battery Replacement Guide. If the LeapPad still isn't charging properly, then you will have to replace the Charging Port.

Where would you find the battery replacement guide? My leappad 2 is not charging at all as well. I have it on the usb pord, there is no charging light coming on but when I press the power button to try and turn it on, it will just blink green once and still stay off. What does this mean?
All guides are in process and in private at the moment. The battery replacement guide will be posted to the public very shortly.

Hi, I have this same exact problem. What did you do to fix it? @KAITLYN FITZGERALD
I actually solved this on the leappad epic. Remove the 6 screws from the rear cover and 1 screw by the stylus. Remove the battery, hold down the power button to discharge and remaining power for 35 seconds. Reinstalled the battery charges just fine now.

removing the battery and holding down the power button for 35 seconds and then puting the battery back in worked thankyou our childs tablet has been dead for weeks she is so happy it works again
Glad it worked it happened 2 our daughter 1 day out of warranty. Its been fine since i posted this. Left out the battery removal tip. There is 2 pieces of double sided sticky tape under it. They stick slightly out and can be removed like 3m command strips. Then the battery comes out. Works just fine without them when you put the battery back in.
Do I unplug the battery jack as well to perform this discharge??
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Our epics have a lot of my kids schooling apps on them. I didn't have to remove the battery. I only had to disconnect the wire running from the battery to the tablet. Now it is charging like a champ. Thank you again!
I tried this advice and it worked the first time. (Thank you!) A few months later, it stopped charging again. I followed the same advice, but this time also removed the wire, but it's still not charging. Please help!
our leapfrog epic tablet stays on 1% , even if its on the charger all night , it just stays on 1% , its like it is infact fully charged but isnt saying any other percentage other than 1.

Same with my Kid's LeapPad3. It keeps charging only 1% even when the battery indicator shows Green Light. Its not even to 3 months they started using it.
Thanks

I had the same problem with the Epic not charging. I tried what you said but the battery won't come out. It's apparently glued in somehow. I don't want to damage anything so didn't want to use tools, etc to accomplish this. I did detach the battery plug and re-attached but it didn't solve the problem. I have contacted Leapfrog to possibly help with a solution.
I wondered if using a charger that didn't come with it was the problem? We lost the original so just use a basic phone charger. I assume they're all universal but could be wrong!

My son pulled the charger out of his leapfrog epic tablet and broke the prongs inside the tablet where the charger connects. So now I have no way to charge it. Anyone know another option to charge it or is it trash now?
