Hi,

Have you tried uninstalling the program?

@ jacob muehlberg

McAfee is a 3rd party anti virus program (see list) that has the habit of notifying you when your McAfee subscription needs renewal and unless you completely uninstall it, because you don't want to use it anymore, they persist

In order to remove McAfee from your system you want to open windows settings then open the apps category, now in the apps and features tab scroll down until you see McAfee antivirus listed as an app now click on it and then click uninstall then select to allow McAfee make changes to your system and then follow the instructions on the uninstallation wizard (if there is one) to finish uninstalling McAfee.

I did not have the McAfee in my system, however, I had WedAdvisor by McAfee, this was the source of the pop ups. So scroll all the way down to see, if you have this installed as well, even if not McAfee. Uninstalling it did the trick for me.

Hello there

there are many types of pop ups such as renewal pop-ups, alerts and notification pop ups, threat detection pop ups etc. Stopping these pop ups may result in trouble instead you should try to limit or change alerts settings.

if the mcafee subscription is expired then you should know how to stop mcafee pop ups using the method provided in link.

the reason you get pop ups from Mcafee even after uninstalling Mcafee is web extension and leftover files. when the program is removed but has certain leftover files or web extensions it might affect the web browser or system and in result it may give our annoying pop ups.

hope this helps your Question.

I've uninstalled Mcafee and still have pop ups. How do I stop them. You explain why I have them above but not how to get rid of them.

I love how no one has actually answered your question thoroughly 😅

C,ick Ctrl/Shift/Del to clear cache and cookies. That should do it!

I FOUND THE ANSWER. Search for the services app with the windows button and open it up. Even if you have McAfee uninstalled it will still show up in here as running! Stop the service, go into its properties and set it to disabled!

Check for WebAdvisor (by McAfee) in the installed programs. As it has a different name, I missed it at first, but uninstalling this as well could help. It was the source of the spam pop-ups for me.

Start-> Settings-> Apps, scroll down until you find McAfee and uninstall it.

If you want to disable pop-ups, you need to set the settings in McAfee and / or turn off all notifications. For notifications, click on the icon to the right of the taskbar.
