How to Sew a Hole in a Sock

Introduction

A hole in a sock can be reason to throw it out, but fixing the problem before it gets worse can save your favorite pair. This technique can save you from throwing out a perfectly good, repairable sock with a hole in it. It may be helpful to practice sewing before attempting this method, although this is a great place to start your sewing journey.

What you need

    • Cut about 15 inches of thread in a similar color to your sock.

    • Pass the thread through the needle’s hole and knot it at the end.

    • Turn the sock inside-out.

    • Flatten the sock.

    • Starting at one corner of the hole, insert the needle through the edge and pull it out the other edge.
